So the motor finally let go in my fiance's Tbird. Was on the way from from the track and it started to squeel. I got it apart and it spun a rod bearing. So I'm collecting parts to put the motor back together but I'm looking for any tips on doing things like putting the new pistons into the motor. Any tips you got I've got my ears open.
Oh and ....
The motor is not going back together without any upgrades I had the block bored .020 over and am adding some forged pistons.

It's a 1994 T-bird SC so it has the 3.8 supercharged motor in it.

I started putting it back together last saturday. Crank, rods, and pistons are in. Checked all the clearances on the bearings and all are within factory spec.

The pistons are going to be the only upgrade as the factory crank and rods were forged from the factory.

Will be reusing the same heads and cam that was in it before.

Well the motor was not exactly stock when it spun a bearing. It already had ported heads and a mild cam in it. I belive her best run was at Rising sun turning the 1/4 mile at about 13.5X @ 105 mph. I'm going to open up the exhaust manifolds some and keep the same cam. I think she'll be looking to run 13.3's come spring.

The new pistons were just put in because of one comment she made. "So what should I have in this motor incase I want to run nitrous?" She's trying to chase me down I think. :)
